ABOUT THE ROLE
Oscar Six designs and runs the experiments the DoD and other mission partners use to assess next-generation technology — and builds the tools that make sense of the results. As a Software Engineer you'll build the software at the center of that work: data collection that captures what really happened in the field, analytics that measure how a technology actually performed, and decision aids that help leaders compare options and choose what's worth fielding.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Build data-collection and ingest pipelines for telemetry, sensor and network data from field experiments
Develop analytics and decision-aid tools that score, compare and visualize how candidate technologies perform against mission needs
Create dashboards and real-time displays for experiment control and after-action review
Work with analysts and operators to turn assessment questions into measurable data and test designs
Integrate systems under test (UxS, sensors, radios) with our data collection when an experiment calls for it
Support experiments on site — set up, troubleshoot and make sure the data comes home clean
WHAT YOU BRING
B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science or a related field
Strong Python and SQL, with exposure to testing and data tooling; comfortable on Linux and with Git
Experience building web apps or dashboards (React or similar)
Working knowledge of networking and comfort working in outdoor test environments
NICE TO HAVE
Test & evaluation, operations research, or statistics/analytics background
MAVLink, ROS 2, WebSockets, MQTT or Protobufs; time-series databases
Geospatial/mapping and GPS/telemetry data; map-based visualization
Unmanned Systems Development
ELIGIBILITY
U.S. citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
